I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at University of Central Florida, under the AI Initiative, with the joint appointment in the Department of ECE and CS. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University, under the supervision of Dr. Xiao Fu. My research focus is in designing provable and efficient methods for various data-driven tasks in machine learning and AI. I also work in the fields of signal processing and optimization with applications of various structured factorization tools and related algorithm design.
Before joining PhD, I had interned with the GPU team at NVIDIA, Santa Clara, USA in 2018 and had been working as a System Validation Engineer with Texas Instruments, Bengaluru, India, from 2012 to 2017.
Prospective students: I am seeking highly motivated PhD students to join my research lab with RA/TA funding. For more details about my research directions, please take a look at my publications page. If you are interested, please send me an email, clearly stating your research interests along with your detailed resume.
Research
The rise of AI opens the door to unimaginable opportunities for making the world a better place. However, challenges abound. My research goal is to enhance the learning techniques in AI to be robust, reliable, and efficient for critical applications in our daily lives.
